Cartier Vendome Tri-Color Band Ring

A Cartier Yellow Gold, Rose Gold, and White Gold band ring from the Vendome collection, a pared down expression of the original Trinity de Cartier. Cartier Trinity was created in 1924, allegedly at the behest of Jean Cocteau who was obsessed with the rings of Saturn and commissioned a tri-color rolling gold ring from his friend Louis Cartier. What resulted from that collaboration was a transcendentally elegant distillation of cosmic science, and this fixed band ring, as an alternative to the traditional Trinity rolling ring, is an even more pared down expression of Cocteau's original fascination. The trinity ring has since come to mean many things to many people; religiously minded individuals think first of the Holy Trinity, some think of three important people in their lives, and yet others use the design to mark anniversaries.
