Stainless Steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master Bracelet c. 1984
ref# 16750 tranistional model with spider Dial movement 27J
quick set date cal. 3075 40 mm 24 hour rotating pepsi bezel

This timepiece is a stunning example of the 3rd generation Rolex GMT "Pepsi" reference 16750. Launched in 1981 the 16750 was the reference to get an updated movement featuring a Quick-Set date wheel, allowing the wearer to effortlessly change the date without having to cycle the hands in a monotonous manner. This reference also added a "hacking" feature to it's repertoire allowing the wearer to set their watch to the exact second they desired. This specific 16750 photographed above is a great example of a 1984 "Pepsi" featuring an original lacquered dial which has aged elegantly revealing one of Rolex's beautiful mistakes; the coveted Spider Dial effect. This dial effect shows off lined cracks starting from the aged hour markers and gliding across the rest of the dial. Under the right angle of the sun you will easily see this crazed dial and it is a stunner! The bracelet is the original 62510 Jubilee bracelet that does show some appropriate stretching for it's aged. Although the GMT hand has similar luminescence color as the hour markers it does appear that the minute, second, and hour hands may have been replaced early on in this timepiece's life. The crystal is not an original Rolex crystal but it is a period appropriate acrylic crystal.
