White Gold Cartier Vendome Ring

A vintage 18 karat white gold Cartier Vendome ring in a size 10.25 (Cartier 63).  The Vendome ring's classic iteration is composed of three attached bands, one in yellow gold, one in white gold, one in rose gold, but the present example is a striking one finished in all 18 karat white gold. 

Cartier Trinity (and by extension, Vendome) was created in 1924, allegedly at the behest of Jean Cocteau who was obsessed with the rings of Saturn and commissioned a tri-color rolling gold ring from his friend Louis Cartier. What resulted from that collaboration was a transcendentally elegant distillation of cosmic science, and this fixed band ring, as an alternative to the traditional Trinity rolling ring, is an even more pared down expression of Cocteau's original fascination.
